This basic recipe for a simple and quick Vanilla Sponge Cake can be used for tarts, cakes, roulades or slices of all kinds.
Ingredients for Vanilla Sponge Cake:
Recipe quantity: for 1 sponge cake with 24 cm Ø
330 g butter
330 g sugar
330 g white flour
1 vanilla bean
10 g baking powder
Preheat the oven to 374°F.
Cream the butter (room temperature) with the sugar and gradually add the eggs one at a time.
Then combine the flour, vanilla bean seeds and baking powder and mix into the mixture. Do not stir too long to avoid the formation of a froth.
Line a baking frame with baking paper and pour the mixture into the tin.
Bake the sponge cake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes.
