These small and tasty Thai fish cake are slightly spicy, sour and especially delicious when you dip them in sweet chilli sauce. In Thailand, they are often sold on the street in the small mobile kitchens that are always placed along the roadsides around lunchtime. But they are also eaten in restaurants as a starter or snack.
Ingredients for Thai Fish Cake
400 g cod (or another white fleshy fish)
2 tsp Thai red curry paste
0.5 bunch coriander
3 kafir lime leaves, dried or fresh
1 shallot, finely chopped
1 lime, the juice
1 dash fish sauce
Sweet Chilli Sauce
Cut the fish into small pieces and chop very finely with the remaining ingredients in a food processor.
Form into patties and fry on both sides in a pan over medium heat with enough oil to finish cooking.
Serve with sweet chilli sauce. Enjoy your meal.
