  1. Ingredients: The core ingredients of Rocky Road include chocolate (usually milk or dark chocolate), marshmallows, and nuts. The chocolate is melted and mixed with the other ingredients to create a rich, gooey, and textured treat. The nuts used can vary but commonly include almonds, walnuts, or peanuts.

Some people add other ingredients like cookies, biscuit pieces, dried fruits, coconut, or different types of nuts to create their unique versions.

150 g cookies (amarettini and oat crisp or butter cookies)
150 g nut kernels or nut mixture, also with almonds (e.g. macadamias, Brazil nuts, pecans or hazelnuts, almonds also work)
250 g dark chocolate
150 g milk chocolate
175 g soft butter
4 tablespoons light syrup (spread, in yellow cup, from Grafschafter)
150 g dried berries, cranberries or cherries (use whatever you like best)
125 g mini marshmallows

Chop chocolates into small pieces, melt with butter and syrup in a medium saucepan over medium heat while stirring.

Remove chocolate mixture from heat, loosely mix in cookie crumbs, nuts, dried fruit and marshmallows with a pastry scraper and pour into a square baking pan (23 x23 cm and 5 cm high) lined with parchment paper. Smooth out and let set in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Remove chocolate block with the paper from the mold, cut into cubes (about 3-4 cm in size) with a large sharp knife with a smooth blade. In between, wash the knife again and again.
