Measurements, weights and conversions for baking

Experimenting in baking can be fun, but it can also go really wrong. Unlike cooking, it is really important to weigh ingredients for cakes, biscuits, cupcakes or tarts. Otherwise, there is a risk that the dough will not rise, the pastry will taste bitter, collapse when cooling or become hard as a rock. To avoid this, you really need a kitchen scale – but for some recipes, cups and spoons do the trick.
