Easy Vegan Chocolate Cake

This recipe for Easy Vegan Chocolate Cake is totally moist and chocolaty. The cake with plant-based ingredients comes out of the oven so fluffy and delicious that your guests won’t believe you made it yourself.

Easy Vegan Chocolate Cake

Ingredients for Easy Vegan Chocolate Cake:

250 g flour
2 – 3 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp baking cocoa
180 g sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
250 ml water
100 ml neutral cooking oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
Some oil for the mould

Chocolate Ganache Frosting:
1 can coconut milk (full fat)
180 g chocolate (dark)
30 g icing sugar (optional)


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the springform pan (Ø 20 cm) with a little oil. Mix flour with baking powder and cocoa powder.

Add the mixture to the remaining ingredients and mix everything together well. Pour the batter into the springform pan. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for approx. 35 minutes. Check with a wooden stick if the cake is baked through. Let the cake cool completely. If desired, sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.

Chocolate Ganache Frosting:
Break the chocolate into pieces and heat in a saucepan with the coconut milk. Stir well until the chocolate has melted. Simmer gently for about 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in icing sugar to sweeten to taste. Remove from the heat and leave to cool for about 10 minutes.

Carefully pour the chocolate ganache onto the baked cake (leave the cake in the tin) and place in the fridge for a few hours, or better still overnight, until set.
