How is cookie cake different from cookies?

Cookie cake is a type of dessert that is made by baking a large, thick cookie in a round or rectangular pan and then decorating it with frosting, sprinkles, and other toppings. It is typically made with a dough that is similar to regular cookie dough, but is modified to be more suitable for baking in a large, flat shape.

The main difference between cookie cake and regular cookies is the size and shape. While regular cookies are small, individual treats that are baked on a sheet pan, cookie cake is a larger, thicker cookie that is baked in a cake pan. This allows it to be cut into slices and served as a dessert, similar to a traditional cake.

Cookie cake can be flavored in a variety of ways, just like regular cookies, and can be decorated with a wide range of frostings, sprinkles, and other toppings. It is a popular choice for celebrations, birthdays, and other special occasions.

Why are cookie cakes so good?

Cookie cakes are often a hit with people because they combine the delicious flavor and texture of cookies with the fun, celebratory feeling of eating a traditional cake. They also offer a satisfying balance of sweet and salty flavors, as the dough is typically flavored with a mix of sweet ingredients like sugar and chocolate chips, as well as savory ingredients like butter and vanilla extract.

In addition, cookie cakes can be customized and decorated in a wide range of ways, making them a versatile and fun dessert option. They can be flavored with a variety of ingredients, such as chocolate chips, nuts, and dried fruit, and can be frosted and decorated with sprinkles, candies, and other sweet toppings.

120g brown sugar
125g softened butter
1 packet of vanilla sugar
2 eggs
220 grams of flour
1/2 packet baking powder
75 g ground almonds
180 g chocolate chips
Nutella or other chocolate cream

Put the sugar, butter, vanilla sugar and eggs in a bowl and beat with a hand mixer until fluffy.

Now sift in the flour and baking powder and stir in the ingredients. Finally, add the ground almonds and chocolate chips to the batter and stir them in with a spoon. Don’t be surprised: the dough will be rather firm.

Line the bottom of a springform pan with parchment paper and grease the rim with butter. Preheat the oven to 350°F top/bottom heat.

Spread half of the dough over the base and press firmly. Now spread Nutella on the dough layer as you like, but leave about 1 centimeter free all around the edge.

Now put the rest of the dough on the Nutella layer. It is best to take small pieces of the dough, flatten them in your hand and spread them on the cake until everything is covered.

Bake the chocolate cookie cake in the hot oven for about 30 minutes. Then take out the mold and let the cake cool down.
