Chocolate Fudge Cake with chocolate icing – you will love this chocolate cake! The sour cream makes it especially moist.
Ingredients for Chocolate Fudge Cake:
FOR THE DOUGH:
250 g soft butter
200 g sugar
1 packet vanilla sugar
200 g sour cream
200 g wheat flour
1 pinch of salt
6 tablespoons baking cocoa
3 tsp. baking powder
4 tablespoons milk
100 g dark chocolate chips
some butter for the form
FOR THE GLAZE:
150 g dark chocolate coating
100 g cream
Preheat oven to 350°Fahrenheit. Grease a springform pan (Ø 20 cm). For the dough, cream butter with sugar and vanilla sugar. Beat in eggs a little at a time. Add sour cream and mix.
Mix flour with salt, cocoa powder and baking powder and add to the dough. Add milk and mix everything together well. Add dark chocolate chips and stir in briefly. Pour the batter into the greased springform pan and bake in the preheated oven for approx. 45 minutes.
Check whether the cake is baked through with the chopstick tester. There may still be a few pieces of chocolate sticking to the stick, so it is nice and moist. Let the cake cool completely, then remove from the pan and place on a cake plate.
For the glaze, finely chopped dark chocolate and place in a heatproof bowl. Bring the cream to the boil briefly, then pour over the chocolate pieces. Let stand for approx. 2 min., then stir slowly with a whisk until all chocolate pieces have melted.
Pour a little glaze over the cake and spread all around the cake with a palette knife or cake scoop. Let chocolate set a bit before serving. The cake makes about 10 pieces.
