Cherry Cake Recipe

Ingredients for Cherry Cake Recipe

1 jar of sour cherries (350 g drained weight)
120 g soft butter
120 g sugar
1 packet vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
2 eggs
4 tbsp milk
2 ripe bananas
200 g flour
1 tsp baking powder
Grease for the tin
Icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

Pour the cherries into a sieve and drain. Preheat the oven to 400° and grease the tin.

Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until fluffy.

Gradually stir in the eggs and milk. Peel the bananas, mash the pulp and stir into the batter. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir briefly into the batter.

Pour the batter into the tin, smooth it out and spread the cherries on top. Bake the cake for approx. 30 minutes (centre, fan oven 350°).

Leave to cool and dust with icing sugar.
